  • Upper Deck International Announces Yu-Gi-Oh! Organized Play for 2009
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – Tuesday March 3, 2009

Upper Deck International is pleased to announce a series of exciting programs that will provide Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game players with an opportunity to duel all year long.

After three months of dueling in the Local and Grand Qualifiers, a group of duelists has qualified for their National Championships, held internationally from April 14th to May 10th. Each National Championship will also host the first ever Dragon Duel National Championship for duelists 12 and under. The Dragon Duel program is a successful program for players 12 and under, and will be a feature element of every Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Organized Play tournament run by Upper Deck International.

Upper Deck International would also like to announce the Synchro Cup, a series of tournaments to be held from June through September. “We’re building on the success of the previous Summer Cup experience to develop the new Synchro Cup, as well as repeating the success of the Fortune Tour”, says Carl Crook, International Organized Play Manager.

The Synchro Cup will be followed by the second annual Fortune Tour, which will be held from September through December, wrapping up the tournament season for 2009, with the Fortune Tour Finals happening in January 2010. Each program will contain unique and exciting prizes to keep players dueling at all levels of tournament.

Upper Deck International is committed to providing duelists with tournaments of the highest quality, and is constantly working on improving its Judge Program and Tournament Software.

For the casual Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game player, Sneak Previews will continue to provide duelists with an opportunity to try out the latest sets before they are released, including Raging Battle in May and Ancient Prophecy in August. Casual duelists can also enjoy the monthly Hobby League program at their local Hobby Store.

Upper Deck International is looking forward to this busy season of Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Organized Play, and to meeting and exceeding our players’ expectations for 2009.

    wobei synchro-cup statt Summer-Cup... ^^; wie heisst dann der winter-Cup? Tuner-Cup? lol...

Wie du inzwischen gemerkt haben solltest (da wir ja nun auch schon März haben), gibt es keinen Winter Cup mehr. Dafür starteten die RtN bereits im Januar, unmittelbar nachdem die verlängerte Fortune Tour endete.
