[OCG] Deck Build Pack: Valiant Smashers (SPU: 23. August)

    - Special Seahorse

    - Seahorse pop, send Anwitch, Goblin, Mace (4 verschiedene Namen im grave)

    - Mit Goblin: normal Goblin, mit Temple: special Goblin

    - Goblin pop, send Boss + Dragon (Boss + 5 verschiedene Namen im grave)

    - Special Boss

Ja.

    Pendulum Effect

    (1) While you have a Fiend Monster Card in your other Pendulum Zone, each time you gain LP, place 1 Resonance Counter on this card.

    (2) Once per turn, when an opponent’s monster declares an attack, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Link Summon 1 “Valmonica” monster.

    Monster Effect

You can only use the 1st and 2nd monster effect of this card’s name each once per turn.

    (1) If this card is in your hand: You can discard 1 other card; place this card and 1 “Demone Valmonica” from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone.

    (2) During the Main Phase, if this card was Normal or Special Summoned this turn: You can banish 1 “Valmonica” Normal Spell/Trap from your GY; this effect becomes that card’s LP gain effect when that card is activated.

TL note: The name is written as “Angelic Voice”, also “Angelo” is Italian for “Angel”.

    demone-206x300.jpg

    DBVS-JP032 Demone Valmonica

    LIGHT Fiend/Pendulum/Effect

    Level 4 PS5 1200/2100

    Pendulum Effect

    (1) While you have a Fairy Monster Card in your other Pendulum Zone, each time you take effect damage, place 1 Resonance Counter on this card.

    (2) Monsters your opponent controls lose 100 ATK for each Resonance Counter on cards you control.

    Monster Effect

You can only use the 1st and 2nd monster effect of this card’s name each once per turn.

    (1) If this card is in your hand: You can discard 1 other card; place this card and 1 “Angelo Valmonica” from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone.

    (2) During the Main Phase, if this card was Normal or Special Summoned this turn: You can banish 1 “Valmonica” Normal Spell/Trap from your GY; this effect becomes that card’s damage-inflicting effect when that card is activated.

TL note: The name is written as “Demonic Voice”, also “Demone” is Italian for “Demon”.

    giura-206x300.jpg

DBVS-JP033 Valmonica no Ishin – Giurarme / Odd Deity of Valmonica – Giurarme

    DARK Fairy/Link/Effect

    2500 LINK-1 (BL)

    1 Effect Monster

Cannot be Link Summoned unless you have a Fairy Monster Card with 3 or more Resonance Counters in your Pendulum Zone. You can only Special Summon “Odd Deity of Valmonica – Giurarme(s)” once per turn.

    (1) If this card is Link Summoned: You can target monsters your opponent controls up to the number of Resonance Counters on cards in your Pendulum Zone; destroy them.

    (2) You can remove 3 Resonance Counters from cards in your Pendulum Zone; this card can make a second and third attack during each Battle Phase this turn.

TL note: The “Odd Deity” is a word made by the Kanji “odd/different” + “god/deity”.

    zebufera-206x300.jpg

DBVS-JP034 Valmonica no Shin’i – Zebufera / Divine Oddity of Valmonica – Zebufera

    LIGHT Fiend/Link/Effect

    2500 LINK-1 (BR)

    1 Effect Monster

Cannot be Link Summoned unless you have a Fiend Monster Card with 3 or more Resonance Counters in your Pendulum Zone. You can only Special Summon “Divine Oddity of Valmonica – Zebufera(s)” once per turn.

    (1) If this card would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can remove 3 Resonance Counters from cards in your Pendulum Zone instead.

    (2) Once per opponent’s turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 of your “Valmonica” Normal Spells/Traps that is banished or in your GY; this effect becomes that card’s effect when that card is activated.

TL note: This name seems to be a portmanteau of Belzebù (Beelzebub) + Bufera (Blizzard). Also the “Divine Oddity” is a word made by the kanji “god/deity” + “odd/different” (in the opposite order to Giruarme’s name)

    selector-206x300.jpg

    DBVS-JP035 Tenma no Seisenki – “Valmonica” / Angelic-Demonic Selector – “Valmonica”

You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn. You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn.

    (1) When this card resolves, you can add 1 “Valmonica” monster from your Deck to your hand.

    (2) If the 3rd Resonance Counter is placed on a card in your Pendulum Zone: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; take control of it (until the End Phase), but it cannot declare an attack.

TL note: “Tenma” is half and half of the Kanji for “Angel” and “Devil”. “Seisenki” is a pun on a different seisenki (精選器), which is written as “spirit” + “selection” + “device”. The original word is some device that is used to select and separate grain, such as a winnowing machine or a sieve. The first Kanji for “spirit” could refer to these Pendulum Monsters. The Spell Card’s name itself replaces the first Kanji for “Voice”, which would make this device a separator/sieve between angelic and demonic voices.

    versare-206x300.jpg

    DBVS-JP037 Valmonica Versare

    Normal Spell

You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn.

    (1) Apply 1 of these effects (your opponent’s choice, if you do not have a “Valmonica” card in your Pendulum Zone).

    ● Gain 500 LP, then you can excavate cards from the top of your Deck until you excavate a “Valmonica” card, and if you do, add it to your hand, also shuffle the rest back into the Deck.

    ● Take 500 damage, then you can send 1 “Valmonica” card from your Deck to your GY, except “Valmonica Versare”.

TL note: “Versare” means “to pour” in Italian.

    intonare-206x300.jpg

    DBVS-JP038 Valmonica Intonare

    Normal Spell

You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn.

    (1) Apply 1 of these effects (your opponent’s choice, if you do not have a “Valmonica” card in your Pendulum Zone).

    ● Gain 500 LP, then your opponent chooses 1 monster in your GY that can be Special Summoned (if any) for you to Special Summon it.

    ● Take 500 damage, then you can add 1 Level 4 monster from your GY to your hand.

TL note: “Intonare” is Italian for “To Sing”.

    ritsudou-206x300.jpg

DBVS-JP039 Ritsudou no Valmonica / Valmonica of the Guiding Rhythm

    Normal Trap

You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn.

    (1) If you control a “Valmonica” Monster Card: Apply 1 of these effects, or, if you control a “Valmonica” Link Monster, you can apply both, in sequence.

    ● Gain 500 LP, then you can destroy 1 Spell/Trap on the field.

    ● Take 500 damage, then you can return 1 monster on the field to the hand.

TL note: This name is a pun on “Ritsudou” (rhythm), replacing the second Kanji with “Guiding”.

    senritsu-206x300.jpg

DBVS-JP040 Senritsu no Valmonica / Valmonica of the Selecting Melody

    Normal Trap

You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn.

    (1) If you control a “Valmonica” Monster Card: Apply 1 of these effects, or, if you control a “Valmonica” Link Monster, you can apply both, in sequence.

    ● Gain 500 LP, also your opponent cannot target “Valmonica” Monster Cards you control with card effects for the rest of this turn.

    ● Take 500 damage, then you can negate the effects of 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls, until the end of this turn.

TL note: This name is a pun on “Senritsu” (melody), replacing the second Kanji with “Selection” (the same one used in the Field Spell Card).

  • Wait, that isn’t a shark.

    F3EPw7nboAEDTkM-300x216.jpg

DBVS-JP004 Memento Dark Sword (Memento Dark Blade)

Level 4 DARK Warrior Effect Monster

    ATK 1800

    DEF 1500

You can only use the 1st and 2nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.

    (1) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can discard 1 “Memento” card, then target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it.

    (2) During your Main Phase: You can destroy 1 “Memento” monster you control, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower “Memento” monster from your Deck.

  • No magical girls? No mechs? Let’s fix that! TOGETHER.

Note: Centurion is the term for a commander of a century, a military unit consisting of 100 legionaires.

    HeavyKnight-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP016 Centurion Primera

Level 4 LIGHT Spellcaster Tuner Effect

    ATK 1600

    DEF 1600

You can only use the (1)st and (3)rd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.

    (1) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 “Centurion” card from your Deck to your hand, except “Centurion Primera”, but you cannot Special Summon “Centurion Primera” for the rest of this turn.

    (2) Your Level 5 or higher “Centurion” monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects while this card is treated as a Continuous Trap.

    (3) During the Main Phase, while this card is treated as a Continuous Trap: You can Special Summon it.

Note: The Kanji 重騎士 reads reads as Heavy Cavalry/Heavily-Armed Knight. Primera probably derives from Primarius, Latin for “first”, “chief ranked”, “excellence”. She’s probably a reference to the term ‘Primus Pilus’, the term for a senior Centurion.

    TheLesserKnightOfBonfire-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP017 Centurion Trudea

    Level 4 DARK Pyro/Effect

    ATK 1000 DEF 2000

You can only use the 1st and 2nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.

    (1) During your Main Phase: You can place this card you control and 1 “Centurion” monster from your hand or Deck, except “Centurion Trudea”, face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as Continuous Traps, but you cannot Special Summon “Centurion Trudea” for the rest of this turn.

    (2) During the Main Phase, while this card is treated as a Continuous Trap: You can Special Summon it, then you can increase its Level by 4.

Note: 従騎士 reads as Junior or Lesser Knight. Trudea probably derives from trũdъ, a proto-slavic word meaning “Labor”/”Effort”. Either that or it’s “Trudis”, a metal pole in Latin. Though it might be for some screwy reason, a reference to Mother Trudy, i.e. Frau Trude, a Grimm Fairy Tale.

    HeavyCavalrySoldier-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP018 Centurion Emet VI

Level 8 EARTH Machine Effect Monster

    ATK 2000

    DEF 3000

You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.

    (1) During your opponent’s turn, if this card is in your hand or GY (Quick Effect): You can target 1 “Centurion” monster you control, except “Centurion Emet VI”; place it face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap, and if you do, Special Summon this card.

    (2) During the Main Phase, if this card is treated as a Continuous Trap: You can Special Summon it.

Note: The Kanji (重騎兵) reads as Heavy Cavalry. Emet probably comes from ēmeritus, Latin for “Earned”, thought it likely comes from Emeterius, one of two Roman legionnaires who were ordained as catholic saints and martyrs.

    KnightEmperor-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP019 Centurion Legatia
Level 12 LIGHT Machine Synchro Effect Monster
    ATK 3500
    DEF 2000
    Materials: 1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
You can only use the 1st and 3rd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
    (1) If this card is Special Summoned: You can draw 1 card, then you can destroy the 1 face-up monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK (your choice, if tied).
    (2) Your monsters with 2000 or less ATK cannot be destroyed by battle.
    (3) During each End Phase: You can place 1 non-Synchro “Centurion” monster from your hand or GY face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap.

Note: The Kanji (騎士皇) reads as Knight Emperor. Legatia probably derives from legatus, Latin for Commander, derived from Legatio (Someone commissioned) or legio (One chosen/Collected), also where we get Legion.

    STANDUPZAVANGUARDO-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP020 Stand-Up Centurion!
    Field Spell Card
You can only use the (2)nd and (3)rd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
    (1) Cannot be destroyed by your opponent’s effects while you control a “Centurion” Monster Card.
    (2) During your Main Phase, if this card was activated this turn: You can send 1 card from your hand to the GY; place 1 “Centurion” monster from your Deck face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap.
    (3) If a monster(s) is Special Summoned, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon using materials you control, including a “Centurion” monster.

    FAITHISJUSTICE-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP022 Faith of Centurion
    Quick-Play Spell Card
You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
    (1) Place 1 “Centurion” monster from your hand or GY face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap.
    (2) If a “Centurion” Synchro Monster(s) is Special Summoned to your field while this card is in your GY: You can banish this card, then target 1 “Centurion” monster in your GY; place it face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap.

    Phalanx-206x300.webp

    DBVS-JP023 Centurion Phalanx

    Normal Trap Card

You can only use 1 of the 1st and 2nd effect of this card’s name per turn, and only once that turn.

    (1) You can target 1 face-up Monster Card on the field; banish it, and if you do, Special Summon it to its owner’s field during the Standby Phase of the next turn.

    (2) You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 “Centurion” Synchro Monster in your GY; Special Summon it, and if you do, it loses 1500 ATK.

Note: The Kanji (騎士魔防陣) on this card reads “Knight’s Magical Defense Formation”. Phalanx is Latin for “Battle Order/Array”, but specifically referred to an interlocking formation in which heavy infantry used polearms and shields, usually forming a solid wall of shields behind which they could poke. (‘Hoplite Phalanx’).

    TRUTH-206x300.webp
